Also, as the boss, he reserves his prerogative to be the person the mechanic has to understand. Therefore if the mechanic cannot understand his job card which will be written in simple English, then the employer has a right to replace the mechanic. You need to understand the working principles of workshops here.

You cannot be more wrong here. Again, mechanics are not fitters. Mechanics work with technical competency. Eg. Tightening torques to be adhered to, specifications of bolts to be used, ie. high tensile bolts, measurement with rachets, verniers etc. all must be understood with technical competency.
On top of that, a workshop is not a restaurant. I cannot comment on how a restaurant works but being in the line for about 10 years, it is very inevitable for mechanics to communicate with suppliers and logistics. After the mechanic troubleshoots and determines his prescription, he will have to go to the logistics to draw out the said items for his job. You should enlighten me on how is it possible for a non technically trained logistic assistant to bring out the correct spare parts for repairs? Therefore, the management will not spend extra cost to employ another ‘specialist’ to find the spare parts for the mechanic. It is imperative, for the mechanic to be able to identify the items and communicate effectively.
Also, with many implementations that leans down the opertaion, mechanics have to contact suppliers on the parts they require during many occasion. And if they are unable to do that, how do you think they can order the parts?

How do you think a Chinese mechanic is able to even understand what’s written? As end users, one of the worst is to have someone misunderstanding the past records of my vehicel working on it leading to possibly catastrophic consequences.

I spend 6 of my 10 year career running workshops while the other 4 years doing engineering stuffs for the auto industry frequently dealing with different types of workshops. How I think encouragement should be given generously to those who want to offer their services to improve the industry, I think we should be realistic and offer only sound advise to the threadstarter. So that he may understand the position he is at.

不会英语或者只会简单的英语可以在车行工作，关键是技术要好，我认识的技工有的光听声音就知道什么地方有问题。

I was a mechanic for 2 years before I scaled the ladder. There is although some truth to how jobs can be done by listening, nowadays, we do diagnosis electronically. Plugging the laptop can allow the technician to tune or diagnose. And these programs are all utilized in English. So how do you think it is possible for someone who has no proficiency in English able to understand the problems?
