3rd Gathering of our English Corner （By Ben）
Our Mission: The mission of this English corner to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop spoken English and communication skill.

We warmly and sincerely welcomes and invites you to join our 3rd gathering of English Corner on 7th November 2009, with a theme “Life in Singapore”.
You would be able to
… Stand on the stage to share with us something happened to you during this week. (A replacement of self-introduction.)
… join a small group to discuss the topic “Life in Singapore”
… have the chance to speak on the stage to present the main ideas on behalf of your group
… Mini-debate of the topic
… Joke-telling session by several people (Joke-teller needed…)
… Prepared speeches (1-2 speakers needed…)
Attached to this e-mail is the draft program sheet and a map on the location of the venue.
The details of the meeting are as follows:
Date: 7 November 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 14:00p.m. – 17:00p.m.
Venue: Bukit Panjang Maysprings(10-mins walk from Bukit Panjang LRT Station)
Admission: Free (We need some sponsors who sponsor some bottles of drinks and paper/plastic cups. Pls contact me if you would like to make this contribution.)
Theme: Life in Singapore (We can discuss the life in Singapore; whether Singapore is fantastic places when it comes to career development; How to integrate into Singapore society as a foreigner, etc…)
Dress code: Colorful / Cool / Casual

P.S.
1) Please be punctual if you are decided to come. It would be quite disturbing if you come right during the meeting.
2) For those who cannot speak fluent English, TO make yourself more comfotable and confident, please be prepared of the topic, “Life in Singapore”, before you go there.
3) My biggest concern is the effectiveness of this English Corner for people of different level of English knowledge as a learning environment. Please freely express your ideas and thoughts in regards to how to make our meeting more effective, or any good suggestion to improve the Program Sheet of our meeting.

内容概序：
1：每个人分享一下本周发生在自己身上的事情
2：Will 对新加坡的生活和欧洲的生活对比介绍
3：分组讨论新加坡的生活
4：各组派人总结一下总体讨论结果
活动总结：
1：第三次活动前，报名的人数让我非常紧张，因为没多少人报名。幸好，活动当天参加人数有12人其中，有3位新朋友，在校读书的就我和Yekai,其他的人均工作。特别感谢一下Brecht,第一次来，就给大家提供饮料和零食。谢谢他的支持。虽然，人数不如前两次，可大家的热情很高。
2：这次我们采取了贴便签的方式，把名字写下，贴在胸前，确实便于分辨记住对方的名字。
3：活动当天分成了两组，分别由Will 和 Ben带领，大家都很享受其过程，并敢于开口。
4：活动最后，Ben提了一下随机演讲，及随便出个题目，参与者必须围绕该题目演讲两到三分钟。当天，Brecht 是我们的测试对象，Ben 的题目是Life is a box of chocolates you never know what will happen tomorrow. Brecht did a good job.
5：活动最后，大家都针对如何提高英语发表了一下意见，谢谢大家的建议，我们会加油满足的。
个人活动感想：
通过三次活动，得到最多的就是对不同地方的风俗习惯，文化背景的了解。很高兴认识大家，希望互相学习，互相加油，毕竟英语学习是个长期积累过程。有心就有翼，谢谢大家的参与，让我们期待下次的相聚。
后续报告：
下次活动待定，sonia本月底下月初左右回到新加坡。在这之前有谁愿意为大家联系场地组织活动的，也可以跟管理员提出，确定时间地点后在公告栏公告。
