Why did I do the things I did?

Why did I do the things I did?  And now a PRC 24 year old man is arrested for posting seditious remark online.

I am the netizen that came across the posting made by 奈何惹尘埃 where he recounted how heroic he was in beating up a local malay, and calling that local malay a dog multiple times.   I have in turn posted the screen capture to Temasek review and the rest I guess is history unfolding.

Why did I do the thing I did? Firstly, the anger that a foreigner coming to my country and insulting and beating up my fellow country man.  I am a Singapore Chinese.  But I see myself as a Singapore citizen first, Chinese second.  Here I see my fellow country men, be it whether they are Malay, Indian or Eurasians as my fellow country men.   Regardless of what that Malay did, beating him up is uncalled for and cannot be justified.  Calling him a dog is something WE, Singapore citizens can not condone, as we know as a Muslim, this means very severe insult.  I can never allow my country men to be treated this way, especially by a foreigner.

Then, there is this deep resentment about the deterioration of the social climate in Singapore, where the numbers of foreigners is at a record high.  But the quality of the bulk of them that are here is just infuriating.  I believe you do not have to go far to know what exactly I am saying.  Incidents like I am listing here are just a tip of the iceberg of how badly the PRCs are behaving themselves in Singapore:

– Young PRC women verbally abused an Singapore old lady selling flowers
– PRC women letting a kid take a piss in the train
– PRC women cheated on MRT fate and yet violently reacted to the MRT staff who caught her

Let me tell you, if you are not prepared to understand the local culture and history, and think that what is acceptable behavior in your country should also be accepted by us, the locals, then please leave.  You are here as a guest, you have absolutely no right to demand if you have chosen to come here.  If you are unhappy that we are demanding that you, behave yourself and abide by the local laws, you should go.  Don’t stay here and screw up our social stability. Singapore is a multi-racial society, our fabric for racial harmony is very fragile, but extremely precious to us.  Do not think that you can come here and create havoc, impose on us your uncouth and violent culture, and expect to get away with it.

And lastly, I hope that by exposing some of the PRCs bad behaviors to our  country men, perhaps, our authority will be more discerning when it comes to approving the applications for scholarships, work visa, PR or citizenship.  And thanks to forum posters here like 不回首, 电玩巴士, 白浪河, 正义神, shaoming82 and 297022432, this incident will perhaps escalate to a level where your fellow country men dreams of coming to Singapore to make a living will be dashed, and obliterated.

From a Singapore Citizen who loves his country, no matter how imperfect, small and young she is.

P.S. Do not expect me to translate this posting, if you want to live and work here, at least have the decency to make an effort to learn our language.

我想大家还是别回这贴了,免得爆发不必要的争论。

注:不像某些小气又自私的人,我非常愿意把我所说的翻译成英文

又注:上文提及的‘小气又自私的人’,并不是特指任何人,如有雷同我不负责任

I strongly suggest that people here do not reply to this thread to avoid further debates or escalation of tension between certain groups of people.

PS. Unlike some greedy and selfish guy, i am happy to translate what i said into English.

PS. again: The ‘greedy and selfish guy’ is not meant for one particular person. Any similarity to any persons, living or dead, or to any actual events is not conincidental and unintentional.

Last but not least, bonus for our brothers who only read English: Get a Life!!!
