书店有英文经典小说专架 CLASSIC FICTION, 一看就知道大概有哪些书了。
比如说，CHARLES DICKENS 的 OLIVER TWIST, BLEAK HOUSE, A TALE OF TWO CITIES, DAVID COPPERFIELD，A CHRISTMAS CAROL 等，还有TREASURE ISLAND, ROBIN HOOD, KING ARTHUR, HERBULES, ROBINSON CRUSOE, WHITE FANG, AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS， SECRET GARDEN, etc. 太多了。
这些书都有针对孩子的简写版，比如USBORNE YOUNG READING 系列，
还有许多其他系列的简写版，在图书馆和书店都可以轻易找到。
6-9岁的孩子读简写版，大点的就可以读原版了。这些都是儿子看了N遍的，属于男孩子喜欢的，还有些女孩子爱看的，比如LITTLE WOMEN, A LITTLE PRINCESS, etc，我记得的不多。大家去图书馆一查就有了。

俺必须说一下，俺儿子三月份入校的时候，听课还有些不懂，老师安排了两个说华文的同学帮助他。
在听完5到6部床头灯故事以后，现在听课基本没有问题了。

读小说一般是泛读，我认为在泛读的同时应该适当做些精读。从文中找出比较经典优美的段落，逐字逐句地阅读，生词要查字典，句子做结构分析，然后通读五遍以上。能背诵更好。
这样精读和泛读结合，就可以所向披靡啦。

例如。去itunes store 搜索一下 《白雪公主》 就会出来一个儿童读物了。有英文 中文 两种语言的。软件自带朗读。中英文都有。！
