Generally, we advise that renewal application be submitted preferably 2 months prior to the expiry date of the current Long-Term Visit Pass since the processing time is up to 6 weeks.
You may wish to note that we do not restrict how early you may submit the renewal application. However, please be informed that the validity of the new Long-Term Visit Pass to be issued will be based on the date of issuance and its approved period, and not as a continuation from the validity of the current pass.

更新一下。直接在ICA的网站上帮爸爸提交了ltvp 的renew， 然后一切顺利，已经成功renew了. ica 那边什么都没问。

2013年的时候还不可以，网上renew，直接告诉你“现在还太早”所以那时候很多人总结的是：要等过期前三个月最多
